About Us

The Section on Health Policy & Administration (HPA) is a specialty component of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

The mission of the HPA Section is to achieve Vision 2020 by:

  • Developing healthcare leaders within the profession
  • Advocating for and influencing APTA positions and initiatives regarding health policy and the administration of professional physical therapy practice;
  • Serving as a resource to members through practice, education, and scholarship.

Office Information
The Section on Health Policy & Administration is headquartered in Missoula, Montana, home of Executive Director Robin Childers. Like many APTA components, the Section is served by a part-time staff of one person. Section projects and activities are accomplished with the assistance of member volunteers, in coordination with the Section Executive Director.

HPA office hours are generally 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Mountain Time.
