Why attend should you attend? We all hear about mentoring relationships a lot, but we really know what is involved and expected? Our speakers are hear to clarify this very important career advancing relationship. This seminar will help the attendee in understanding the definition of and role of being in a mentoring relationship, understand how to objectively plan the meetings, and will discuss the importance of having clear and realistic goals.  Additionally, we will speak about the overall goals one should expect in a mentoring relationship as well as describing the qualities for being a good mentor and a good mentee.

Speakers:

Jennifer E. Green-Wilson, PT, EdD, MBA: Jennifer Green-Wilson is a principal of the Institute for Business Literacy and Leadership and formerly the Director of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) LAMP Institute for Leadership in Physical Therapy.  Previously serving as a Director on the Board of Directors of the APTA, she speaks nationally and internationally on topics related to leadership, business literacy, and management in health care and was awarded HPA the Catalyst’s LAMPLighter Leadership Award in February 2014.  She recently served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Rochester Hearing and Speech Center in Rochester, New York.  Dr. Green-Wilson holds an Ed.D. degree in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, a MBA degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BS degree in physical therapy from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.  

Beth Sarfaty, PT, MBABeth Sarfaty has been with Select Medical for over 21 years and has served in a variety of roles. Starting her tenure as a Center Manager of a small OP Physical Therapy clinic with NovaCare she grew to a Manager of Clinical Operations and then a Regional Director where she managed over 10 clinics. From there she moved into the role of VP of Operations for the OP clinics of Kessler Rehabilitation which grew to over 85 centers in the 10 years she proudly served in that position. The divisional role, VP of Clinical Services and Quality Management of the Hospital Based OP Clinics, which she held for 5 years, allowed her to hone her skills of developing and facilitating a variety of workshops that empower leaders of all levels throughout the organization to strive in self-development and foster strong, productive teams.  

In her current role as VP of Rehabilitation Services in LTACH, she provides support, operational guidance and clinical teambuilding to the Rehab departments. She also works with the hospital leadership team to foster strong communication and collaboration to promote a meaningful and productive work environment to cultivate relationships and hospital growth.

A graduate of Northeastern University in Boston MA with a BS in Physical Therapy and a MBA with a concentration of healthcare management from Regis University in Denver, CO, Beth also serves on the NJ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners since Jan 2012.
