The Section on Health Policy & Administration (HPA) is a component of the American Physical Therapy Association, a national professional organization representing more than 75,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education.

Membership in HPA is restricted to individuals who are either members of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and meet APTA's eligibility requirements, or Partner Program Members who register via HPA's website. Partner Program memberships are available to international PTs and PTAs who are ineligible from joining APTA. Individuals may join HPA at the same time they join APTA or they may join HPA at a later date.


HPA The Catalyst is introducing its new Partner Program, designed to allow international physical therapy professionals and non-physical therapists access to Section member benefits without a membership to APTA. Partner members receive access to more than 2,200 physical therapy professionals passionate about policy, leadership, technology, global health, and other topics important to physical therapy practice in the 21st century.

Current HPA members are eligible to join either or both of the HPA Special Interest Groups, Global Health and Technology in Physical Therapy. Join the SIGs by logging into the Section website and going to Profile Home. You may select the SIGs in your profile under the "Additional Information" heading.
