According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2016, there were over 42,000 opioid-related overdose deaths in the United States and 11.5 million people reported they had misused prescription opioids.  Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants understand their role in a treatment plan for reducing pain, a large contributor to the misuse of opioids.  However, we should also be active members of an expanded interprofessional role related to the prevention of opioid use disorder.  Join us for an introductory webinar focused on applying Team Science to an Interprofessional Approach to the prevention of Opioid Use Disorder.

Educational Learning Objectives:

  • Define the 7 Cs of Team Science.
  • Recognize opportunities to enhance collaboration among your teams(s).
  • Identify national/local resources to support team efforts.
