Sept. 26, 2019: Do You Really Know Your Patients? Using PROMIS Scales to Implement a Biopsychosocial Model

1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Eastern

Presented by: Jeff Houck, PhD

Members: $49 | Non-Members: $79

The goal of this seminar is to give attendees a practical look at how generic health outcome scales empower providers to integrate a biopsychosocial model of care. New Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) are designed to “give patients a voice” in their health care. Generic health outcomes are available using the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS). This seminar will show the clinical advantage of using PROMIS health outcomes for clinical decisions. Both provider experience and research demonstrate that using PROMIS alters day-to-day clinical decision-making. Providers note increased confidence in interpreting their patients’ needs and making clinical decisions that focus on key patient priorities. This new approach to assessment appears to enhance patient engagement, efficiency of care, and provider satisfaction. The goal of this seminar is to give attendees a practical look at how generic PROMIS outcomes significantly improve the ability of providers to implement a biopsychosocial approach to clinical decision making.
