Mission Statement

The mission of the HPA Section is to transform the culture of physical therapy through initiatives that enhance professionalism, leadership, management, and advocacy to foster excellence in autonomous practice for the benefit of members and society.

Vision Statement

By 2020 the HPA Section will be the expert in integrating professionalism into the culture of physical therapy.

  • We will be sought by health care professionals, APTA components, and decision makers to influence social, political, and economic policies that impact physical therapy and health.
  • We will have created and delivered programs that develop professionals, leaders, managers, and advocates to foster excellence in physical therapy.
  • We will be leaders in promoting cultural competence, global health initiatives, social responsibility, effective application of technology, and health services research.

Proposed Bylaw Amendments

Pursuant to Article XIV Sections 1 &2 of HPA The Catalyst bylaws (bylaws), these bylaws were amended to include minor editorial/formatting edits; and minor section amendments. The section amendments are reflected in red in the attached document. The edits in red were made to add clarity to the process outlined in the edited subsection of the bylaws and to ensure congruence of content between all sub-sections in the bylaws.
